We offer a variety of crypto products and services millions of clients in 190+ countries. Last year, we received data requests from law enforcement and government agencies located in 71 countries.

Combined global law enforcement and regulatory agency requests increased 38.6% in 2024 vs. 2023

U.S. agencies issued 28.6% of all data requests in 2024

Kraken received 6,826 data requests in 2024; the U.S. issued the most (1,951) of any country, as it has in prior years. The FBI had the most requests (614) of any U.S. agency:

While U.S. agency requests were spread across the federal, state and local levels, most of the requests received were from law enforcement agencies. The most common requests from U.S. agencies for which data was provided were:

While the SEC represented just 1.9% of total U.S. agency requests, they issued 37.3% of all U.S. regulatory agency requests:

We provided data for 57% of requests

Data was requested for 10,369 total accounts – most often for clients located in the U.S. (34.5%), the U.K. (8.8%) and Germany (8.5%).
