Base hits 4M active addresses amid ‘Onchain Summer’ campaign

Base said it had allotted 600 ETH, worth $2 million, for developers who would build on the blockchain from June to August this year. 

Crypto exchange Coinbase’s layer-2 solution Base had about 4 million active addresses last week as it continues to push its “Onchain Summer” campaign forward. 

Jesse Pollak, head of Base, shared data from Dune Analytics, saying that the layer-2 network reached an all-time high in weekly active addresses. Pollak highlighted that over 4 million active addresses were on the blockchain last week.

According to research commissioned by Coinbase, roughly 40% of young crypto holders in crucial swing states identify as Democrats — the same percentage as Republicans.

Cryptocurrency may be less of a partisan issue in key areas that may determine the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election.

According to research commissioned by Coinbase, roughly the same percentage of voters under 35 who hold crypto in US swing states identify as either Democrats or Republicans: 41% to 39%, respectively. The data gathered by Impact Research in July did not indicate whether crypto holders were polled before or after US President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection in November.

“Young voters can tip the scales for either party – and this is all the more critical in battleground states where a handful of ballots can mean the path to victory for either party,” said Coinbase.

The Turkish cryptocurrency landscape is experiencing a major transformation as prominent companies like Coinbase and KuCoin compete to obtain business licenses in the country.

This surge in applications follows regulatory updates by the Turkish Capital Markets Board (CMB), marking a critical juncture for the nation’s burgeoning crypto sector.

On Aug. 9, the CMB announced that 47 cryptocurrency companies had initially applied for licenses under new regulatory frameworks. This list, however, has now expanded to 76, with notable additions such as Coinbase, KuCoin and Gate.io.
