Most of the Donald Trump-themed memecoins have tanked while the rest of the crypto market continues to gain.

Donald Trump-themed memecoins collapsed the day after Trump’s election victory in the United States on Nov. 6 and a broader surge in the crypto markets, which included a new Bitcoin all-time high.

The leading Donald Trump-themed memecoin by market capitalization, MAGA (TRUMP), spiked to $4.60 on Nov. 6 when the election results were declared but tanked 53% over the past 24 hours to just $1.87 at the time of writing, according to CoinGecko.

Memecoins linked to Joe, Jill, and Hunter Biden tanked more than 60% while a memecoin tied to US Vice President Kamala Harris rallied 133% before cooling off.

Memecoins linked to United States President Joe Biden, his wife Jill, and son Hunter have fallen more than 60% since Biden officially dropped out from the 2024 presidential race.

The Joe Biden-linked Jeo Boden (BODEN) token tanked 62% in less than two hours while Kamala Horris (KAMA) token soared amid speculation that US Vice President Kamala Harris will replace Biden as the Democrat candidate.

Nearly 10 billion has been wiped from BODEN’s market cap, which stood at 16.2 billion before the news broke, CoinGecko data shows.

NFT sales fell 44% as crypto dipped, memecoins steal ‘mind share’ in Q2

Several PolitiFi and animal-themed memecoins continued to soar in the second quarter despite the broader market downfall, which NFTs were a part of.

A recent flood of celebrity, political, and animal-themed memecoins, along with a crypto market downturn, may have contributed to a 44% fall in the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in Q2, according Apollo Crypto’s investment chief.

Data from CryptoSlam shows NFT sales fell from $4.14 billion in Q1 to $2.32 billion in Q2 as part of a broader market downfall.

“Q2 was a difficult market with Bitcoin declining by 15% and many altcoins performed significantly worse than that,” Henrik Andersson, chief investment officer at Apollo Crypto, told Cointelegraph.
