The Defend American Jobs political action committee has spent more than $40 million on media buys supporting businessman Bernie Moreno’s Senate run.

Bernie Moreno, the Republican Party candidate for the United States Senate race in Ohio, reportedly claimed to have sold his Bitcoin (BTC) holdings in an apparent attempt to push back against potential conflicts of interest with support from the cryptocurrency industry.

According to an Oct. 28 Cleveland.com report, Moreno said he was “proud” to have the support of the crypto industry in his race to unseat Senator Sherrod Brown.

The Senate candidate has received more than $40 million in support through media buys from the political action committee (PAC) Defend American Jobs, an affiliate of Fairshake that primarily helps Republican candidates.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority says brokers and dealers are increasingly experimenting in the metaverse.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a non-governmental, self-regulatory organization, recently published a report outlining the potential regulatory implications for securities and finance firms operating in the metaverse.

Along with a breakdown of the current state of metaverse activity in the finance industry and projections for the technology’s future, FINRA also dedicated several paragraphs of the report to reminding businesses that both its rules and relevant government regulations apply to their activities in the metaverse just as they would otherwise.

Hacker behind fake Bitcoin ETF X post pleads not guilty

Reports from the courtroom suggested that prosecutors would offer a deal for Eric Council Jr., who allegedly helped compromise the SEC’s X account.

Eric Council Jr., the individual charged over his involvement for allegedly hacking the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s X account and posting a message suggesting that Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) had been approved, has pleaded not guilty in a DC courtroom.

In an Oct. 25 arraignment before Judge Amy Berman Jackson in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, Council Jr. entered a plea of not guilty for one charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated identity theft and access device fraud. He was allegedly part of a group that hacked the SEC’s X account in January, publishing a post that claimed the commission had officially approved spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs for the first time.
