Solana beats Ethereum’s economy for the first time in October

According to a report by hedge fund Syncracy Capital, Solana now rivals Ethereum in almost every economic metric.

The Solana network has been closing the gap with Ethereum as key metrics indicate a rise in market share revenue in 2024.

A bullish report published on Nov. 12 by hedge fund Syncracy Capital claims that Solana now rivals Ethereum in nearly all major economic metrics, showing consistent growth over the past few months.

According to the report, Solana’s real economic value (REV) was 111% of Ethereum’s REV in October 2024, up from 1% in the same period last year. The metric includes transaction fees and maximal extractable value (MEV) tips paid to validators, indicating the network’s economic activity.

SolFi is a spinoff of the crypto investment platform focused exclusively on Solana, DeFi Technologies said.

DeFi Technologies, a cryptocurrency investing platform, has created a new company called SolFi designed to be a “Microstrategy for Solana” (SOL), according to a Nov. 12 announcement.

SolFi is a spin-off of DeFi Technologies focused entirely on “providing investors with direct exposure to the Solana blockchain ecosystem through proprietary trading, validator node operations, and ecosystem investments,” DeFi Technologies said.

SolFi will compete with existing SOL staking platforms and aims to differentiate itself by earning higher yields on staked SOL than peers, DeFi Technologies said.

Bitcoin picked up momentum and soared above $84,500, pulling several altcoins higher.

Bitcoin (BTC) has been on a roll and shows no signs of slowing down. The latest leg of the rally above $84,500 pushed Bitcoin’s total market capitalization above $1.67 trillion for the first time.

Analysts remain optimistic that Bitcoin will extend its month-to-date gains of 17% as November’s average return is 44%, according to CoinGlass data. Veteran trader Peter Brandt said in a post on X that “when BTC runs - it runs.” He projects Bitcoin to reach $125,000 by the end of the year.
