Ether ETFs are beating their Bitcoin counterparts amid recent ETH rally

Spot Ether ETFs saw about $225 million in net inflows over four recent trading days, which was $190 million more than the spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen more money from investors than their Bitcoin counterparts since Nov. 22, as Ethereum’s decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem scored a key victory in a US court this week.

Spot Ether ETFs took in $224.9 million in net inflows over the four trading days between Nov. 22-27, while spot Bitcoin ETFs tallied $35.2 million in net inflows due mainly to a heavy day of outflows on Nov. 25, Farside Investors data showed.

This followed an almost 8% Ether (ETH) price rally to more than $3,590 over the past seven days.

‘Silly’ to shade Ethereum, the ‘Microsoft of blockchains’ — Bitwise exec

Ethereum is still home to the most active crypto developers and is the most attractive chain to build applications on top of for big companies, argues Bitwise’s Matt Hougan.

Ethereum may be in the “doldrums” at the moment, but haters of the blockchain will probably end up looking “silly,” says the chief investment officer of Bitwise. 

In a Sept. 17 post, Bitwise’s Matt Hougan admits there has been a lot of negative community sentiment over Ethereum. The ETH/BTC ratio has been at its lowest in three years, and the price of Ether is flat compared to Solana (SOL) and Bitcoin (BTC). 

“No one likes Ethereum right now,” he said.

Crypto execs plan to raise $100K for Harris at fundraiser: Report

A group of crypto industry players wants to sway Kamala Harris to soften on crypto as she maintains a slight lead in national polling over Donald Trump.

Crypto executives and industry advocate groups are reportedly planning to raise $100,000 for United States Vice President Kamala Harris in a bid to sway her toward a relaxed stance on crypto if she wins the presidency in November.

The group, which includes industry advocate body the Blockchain Foundation, is planning the fundraiser for Sept. 13 in Washington with tickets priced between $500 to $5,000, Reuters reported on Aug. 30.

The effort shows some in the industry are backing Harris over rival Donald Trump despite Harris being relatively quiet on her crypto stance compared to Trump.

US senators urge CFTC to finalize ban on election betting

It comes as decentralized prediction platform Polymarket has gathered more than $500 million in bets on who will likely win the 2024 United States presidential election.

Five United States Senators and three House representatives have renewed calls for the commodities regulator to ban betting on the 2024 presidential election.

They claimed that such markets “could influence and interfere with elections and further erode public trust in democracy” in an Aug. 5 letter to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair, Rostin Benham.

“We urge you to promptly finalize and implement this rule to prevent the commodification of U.S. elections.”
