Justin Sun purchased $30 million worth of tokens from Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial, making him the largest investor to date.

The founder of the Tron blockchain, Justin Sun, has become the largest investor in Donald Trump’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, after buying $30 million worth of its tokens.

“We are thrilled to invest $30 million in World Liberty Financial as its largest investor,” Sun wrote in a Nov. 25 X post. “TRON is committed to making America great again and leading innovation.”

Before Sun’s post, a wallet that Etherscan tagged as owned by the Sun-controlled crypto exchange HTX, formerly Huobi, was seen purchasing 2 billion World Liberty Financial (WLFI) tokens worth $0.015 apiece.

Trump’s World Liberty Financial taps Chainlink as oracle provider

World Liberty Financial’s WLFI token is only available to accredited investors inside the United States and non-US residents.

President-elect Donald Trump’s decentralized finance platform, World Liberty Financial, has announced an integration with Chainlink’s price feeds to provide real-time, tamper-proof data to the DeFi project.

According to a Nov. 14 announcement, World Liberty Financial will leverage Chainlink oracles on the Ethereum mainnet to power the platform’s launch — based on an Aave v3 instance. Following the integration, Eric Trump, Web3 ambassador at World Liberty Financial and the son of the president-elect, had this to say:

World Liberty Financial’s choice to integrate Chainlink as an oracle provider follows yet another successful pilot test with the SWIFT interbank messaging system and further growth of the Chainlink ecosystem.

Trump-backed platform’s crypto token sale flatlines at $10M amid site jitters

A token sale for the Donald Trump-backed World Liberty Financial has faltered, so far only reaching 3.4% of its goal to sell $300 million worth of tokens.

The debut token sale for the Trump family’s crypto project World Liberty Financial has so far fallen flat, with the number of tokens sold reaching just over 3.4% of its $300 million goal after its website crashed.

The sale for WLFI, the platform’s token, went live on Oct. 15 with 20 billion tokens priced at 1.5 cents apiece up for grabs to the public — but 14 hours later, only 687 million, around $10.3 million worth, had been sold.

Etherscan data shows just 6,832 unique wallet addresses hold WLFI, far below the over 100,000 signups the project’s team touted they’d seen a day before the token’s launch.
