The ongoing FTX reorganization proceedings have taken a new turn as the United States trustee overseeing the case has raised significant objections to the crypto exchange’s amended reorganization plan.

The trustee, Andrew Vara, along with a group of creditors, has filed complaints highlighting multiple flaws in the proposed plan, which the FTX estate has touted as having widespread creditor support.

This follows a claim by the bankrupt crypto trading platform FTX that its amended reorganization plan gained overwhelming preliminary support from creditors entitled to vote.

WazirX restores balances post-hack, withdrawal timeline unclear

The delay in withdrawals has impacted individual investors and raised concerns about the overall security and reliability of cryptocurrency exchanges.

Nearly a month after a massive hack rocked the WazirX exchange, resulting in the loss of $234 million of investors’ funds in the Indian crypto exchange’s Safe Multisig wallet, the platform has restored investor balances.

Despite this progress, there is still no clarity on when users will be able to withdraw their funds, leaving many frustrated and anxious.

In an update on Aug. 16, WazirX stated they are working on two main issues: finding a solution for Indian Rupee (INR) balances and resolving issues related to cryptocurrency balances.

A test transaction from a dormant Mt. Gox wallet triggers speculation of Bitgo’s role in the ongoing Bitcoin distribution to creditors.

A wallet that received $2.19 billion in Bitcoin from the defunct exchange Mt. Gox initiated a test transaction at 10:57 UTC.

According to an Arkham Intelligence X post, the wallet (bc1q26) is suspected to be Bitgo, the fifth and final exchange set to distribute funds to Mt. Gox creditors.

The wallet currently holds 33,105 Bitcoin (BTC) worth $1.96 billion after the recent market sentiment shift.
